Countries Where People Live The Longest
YOU'LL BE SHOCKED WHERE AMERICA RANKS
Most humans have the desire to live a long life. That is, of course, based on remaining healthy. Few want to live to be 200 years old, sitting in a wheelchair, slobbering on friends and family.
While, as a whole, the world's population is living longer (and healthier). Yet we are far from finding the "fountain of youth as only a handful of countries have life expectancies greater than 80 years (and it might come as a surprise that the United States is not one of them). While these figures continue to move each year, they are, for the most part, relatively stable (at least for the time being). Several sources report slightly different rankings and stats, for the most part, everyone is on the same page.
Measuring Life Expectancy Life expectancy is typically determined by computing the average of the ages at which people die in each country. Various factors should be taken into consideration when reviewing these stats. The Infant mortality rate is a key factor (countries with the highest life expectancy have low infant mortality rates).
Other factors to be considered are access to good healthcare, access to healthy food, pollution, and the general condition of the country.
