Yesterday’s Restaurant

Life Is Short, Eat Well!

Yesterday’s Restaurant in Granger, Indiana, is considered by many residents and visitors of Michiana to be the Best Restaurant in the area. While Michiana is fortunate to have many very good restaurant choices, Yesterday's takes the cake (so to speak). Yesterday's is an obvious favorite of folks in Mishawaka, Granger, South Bend, and Elkhart, as well as the surrounding communities. However, Yesterday's is also a favorite of visitors from all over the country, especially those visiting the University of Notre Dame.

So why exactly has Yesterday’s garnered such a reputation over the years? Well, it started when husband and wife entrepreneurs Bill and Evonne Corbett opened their new restaurant in 1988. They were devoted to specific principles and goals: create an atmosphere where guests would feel welcome all of the time, deliver only the very best food, utilize only organic and Amish-raised meats, fruits, and vegetables, and finally, treat guests like family. Today, Bill, Evonne, and her charming mother, Carol (who is often seen behind the bar ensuring that guests get the perfect cocktails), and their exceptional team have carried out those goals and have developed a reputation for excellence in cuisine and service.

When you visit Yeterday's you'll see the forces to be, moving swiftly through the restaurant while always taking the time to make visitors feel right at home. How is it that a select few restauranteurs have the ability to be hurried, scurried, rattled, and shoved... while still maintaining an inviting nature that makes you want to visit again and again? We're not sure, but the Corbett family and their staff certainly have it mastered.

From start to finish, Yesterday's Food, Cocktails, Atmosphere, and Service will keep a smile on your face!

YESTERDAY'S PEOPLE

We can't say enough about the staff at Yesterday's and, of course, Evonne, Bill, and Carol. They make dining unforgettable each and every time you visit. There are quite a few restaurants with good food, and there are more and more with a nice atmosphere, but when the staff is genuine, caring, attentive, and happy, it spills over to the guests. It's catching and very refreshing!

The friendliness makes everyone feel right at home. They've turned the oldest house in Granger into a cozy, charming, yet eclectic home where people love to come and unwind, eat, drink, and yes, be merry! The Corbett's and their team make you feel like we all have something in common. That's a comfortable feeling when we spend days and nights stressed out and often overworked. The folks at Yetsreday's have certainly brought all of the ingredients together to make guests sit back and enjoy life for a couple of hours.

"We actually love what we do
and what Yesterday's stands for.
We enjoy watching people indulge in
food, friends, drink, and laughter.
When they feel special,
we feel special because we know
we had a part in making that happen."

BILL CORBETT - Yesterday's Co-owner

"When it comes to our food,
we have always maintained the highest standards.

At Yesterday's, we use only the highest quality, organic,

and/or Amish-raised meats and vegetables.

We develop our own recipes, and we take great pride
 in preparing
 the best meals possible.
It really tickles us when people say that
 Yesterday's is their favorite restaurant."

EVONNE CORBETT - Yesterday's Co-owner

YESTERDAY'S FOOD

Guests always enjoy "Yesterday's hospitality." So the next obvious question is, How's the Food? Well, the quality of the food that comes from Yesterday's kitchen is extraordinary. When you enter, you don't necessarily feel you've walked into a fine dining establishment. However, the food speaks for itself, and loudly, I might add. Diners cannot resist returning for their favorite Yesterday's meals.

Their vast menu will satisfy even the most discriminating palates. From Roasted Garlic and Uncle Matt's Chicken Lips appetizers, Yesterday's Infamous Slow-Roasted Prime Rib, and the Almond, Coconut Crusted Alaskan Haddock. Or try their delicious fillet or lobster tail paired with a glass of the perfect wine. If you're feeling more casual, try their Award-Winning Great Scott Burger (voted the Best Burger in 100 Miles), accompanied by a tall mug of ice-cold beer. Yesterday's mouth-watering meals have earned them the reputation as one of the Best Restaurants in the entire Region!

Furthermore, don't plan on going home hungry. Yesterday's always delivers gigantic portions. Having said that, make sure that you save room for one of Yesterday’s Famous Homemade Desserts. People come from all over just for their amazing treats.

ZZZIPPY RECOMMENDATIONS - OUR TAKEAWAY

Yesterday's Restaurant in Granger, Indiana, is very much unlike any other restaurant in the region. As you walk in the door, you realize that this is not a large, stuffy, overly-sophisticated restaurant. Instead, you immediately realize that this is going to be a unique, cozy experience, wrapped with warmth and a genuinely sincere hostess.  While the waiting area is more than just a bit snug, it gets better once you're seated.

The ambiance is very eclectic, almost weird in a good way. The walls are plastered with old pictures of stars from yesteryear, Christmas lights, and many sports pics from celebrities. You'll find a canoe that hangs from. the ceiling, as well as many other unique items, all with their own stories. The rooms are somewhat small, and you might say tight... or you might say quaint and cozy, depending on your mindset.

The aroma of garlic greets you almost as quickly as the staff. And that sets the mood for a marvelous culinary adventure.  From appetizers to desserts, you won't be disappointed. Yesterday's delivers the complete epicurean experience.

It's hard to rate, rank, or judge a restaurant by one or two or even a few characteristics. Inevitably it comes down to the overall experience... and that is where Yesterday's shines!
